The Expanding Fabric Dome blossoms open from a 14” cluster to a 48” dome when pulled open from its base. Nested within the structural mechanism, a fabric surface is stretched into a tensile surface to provide a protective covering. The Fabric Dome was originally exhibited at the Centre Georges Pompidou in 1997, and has since travelled to Tokyo, London and Montreal as part of various larger exhibitions.
